Mal's Graduation & East Sandy Fun Run

Mallory had her preschool graduation on Thursday.  She will be in Kindergarten next year, and we won't see Teacher Pat until Sophie is old enough to go! =o[   I love that lady.  My kids love her too.

So this was my TENTH preschool graduation, as each of my kids have gone to her and they have each had 2 graduations.  This year, at least, there was a new magician.  I had seen the other magician so many times I knew all his jokes.  He was great, just nice to have something a little different!  The graduation party is usually a swim party too.  This year the pool wasn't even set up.  It was about 55 degrees outside.  But at least we didn't have any rain!

Look at how much she loves these kids! I love Teacher Pat! She is the best.

Today was East Sandy Elementary's annual Fun Run.  My kids look forward to it because they know that means school is almost over.  Parents can run with their kids, and there is always a big turnout.  A 2 mile race is layed out through the neighborhood, with a shortcut for the Kindergarten students.  The students are lined up by grade, with 6th grade going first and Kindergarten last.

5th Grade - Emma's grade - waiting their turn to get up to the starting line.

See Conner's little face smiling up from the crowd?
Go Ashton!  That's his best friend Brox in front of him.  I think Ashton placed 4th overall for his grade.  Good Job!
Jared's first year running it.  He finished up with Emma and our nephew Jayden.
Emma did great! She placed 6th overall for girls in 5th grade.
Almost to the finish line! Run, Conner, run!  Conner got 4th place for boys in Kindergarten.

Miscellaneous May!

Here's a few miscellaneous happenings in our lives this month of May!
How can it be possible?! Yes, my little Miss Mallory lost her first tooth on the 10th.  The tooth fairy brought her two $1 bills, some change and a Dum-Dum sucker!  Can time slow down please!? She's getting so big. =o[

We got a letter in the mail last week letting us know that Kelsey had been nominated for Student of the Month for all of 7th grade for April.  There was a breakfast early this morning at the school for parents to come and see their students get their award.  We had to be there at 7:20 and I didn't get up until 7:00.  Ahh! It was a rush to hurry and get there in time, but we did it.  Good thing Kelsey wakes herself up & gets herself ready!
Kelsey with Mrs. Thorpe, the teacher that nominated her.  Sorry it's a bit blurry,
but it's better than the one the school just emailed to me!

Kelsey with her award!  There is a small plaque under her fingers that has her name and the month.  Her name will also be on a plaque with all the other 'Student's of the Month' from the 2010-2011 year and hung in the hallway.  They said a student can only be nominated once in their 3 years at the school.  Good job Kelsey!

I took this picture yesterday & I thought it was too cute to not include!

Boys Soccer

The soccer season is winding down!  Conner will play his last game this Thursday.  Ashton's last game will be next Tuesday.  This has been a crazy season weather wise - Emma has had 3 rescheduled games and doesn't have her last game until June 18th.  Mallory's last game is June 13th.  Still need to get some pictures of them!
Conner played on a team with his buddy Ryan.  Their team is Blue Lightning.  They have won every game so far.
When Emma saw this picture she asked, "Why is he mad?'
I said, "He's not, that's his game face."
He takes it very seriously!

Mallory playing with her friend Aubrey.  One of the few nice days this spring that the kids could play outside.  Mallory and Ashton like to come to Conner's games so they can play.

Ashton & Spencer playing over on the basketball court.

Go Conner! #2 is awesome
Ashton's team has been together for a  long time, with the exception of a couple players leaving and coming to the team every season.  He loves his coach.  Ashton is a really good player and I love watching him play.  They've had a great season and played hard in rainy, windy, cold weather almost every game.  Yesterday, the 24th, was probably the best weather we've had and I still had to wear a coat.  Where is spring?!
Watch out, here comes a knee!

Go #8!
Look at that face!
Ashton taking a shot at the goal.  They won this game 5-0.
Ashton is going to try out for competition soccer (Sparta) this Thursday.  He is very nervous!  But, no harm in trying out and just seeing what we think.  Playing with Sandy City Rec has been great.

Mother's Day Dinner

An added plus to the wedding weekend is that it fell just before Mother's Day, which meant all of my Mom's kids would be together for it!  Well, except Beka who is now gone on a honeymoon, but still.  I told Jared that I wanted to have everyone over.  You'd think some husbands might complain, some might say "Ok", and then do nothing to help.  I am very blessed with a husband who is not only OK with it, he did all the grocery shopping and cooking for it!  He's a very, very great guy.

Kid's waiting in line for dinner.  Eric smartly put them in order from youngest to oldest, so the little ones could eat first.

Ashton is used to going last, so this was different for him.  He usually waits until everyone else has a plate.
This is Mikey asking for Pop.
This is Amy telling him he doesn't get pop, he gets water.
This is Mikey sad that he can't have pop.
Joe, Emma & Kelsey
Mikey is just so stinking cute.  I wish he lived closer, I'd go steal him everyday just so I could look at those brown eyes.
Jared makes the best cinnamon rolls.
Abi & Sophie playing in the toy room.

The kids were playing soccer on the porch.  One day I am going to have a broken window!
Steph's Mom & brother Josh were able to come over to visit too.

My Dad doing my dishes.  Growing up my Dad was always at the kitchen sink doing dishes on Sunday.

We all gathered for a family prayer before the Scott's left for Indiana (24hr drive!)  Who knew my family room could hold so much family!  It was a great feeling to have everyone in my home, eating and visiting.  I hope the cousins grow up with great memories of Aunt Jerusha's house.  And I hope I am their favorite. =o]

Wedding Dinner & Dancing at Noah's

After we were done with pictures at the temple, we had a few hours to kill before we had to be at Noah's for pictures.  None of us had fed our kids lunch, and they weren't going to be able to wait until 7:00 for dinner.  The Wrides opted for Chuck-A-Rama, and after being out of the country for as long as they had, that's probably where my kids would want to go too.  The rest of us headed to Chick-fil-A.

Ahhhhh.....refreshment......
My niece Lucy

We got to Noah's around 4:00, pictures weren't for another hour.  Mom reserved a room on the second floor where we could relax, put on a movie for the kids, and freshen up.

Nothing kills time better than the iPad.
Lucy & Sophie - they are only about a month apart.

Watching Princess and the Frog.
"The Conner's"
Here she is saying, "Ma!"

Neil & Lucy

We always have to get a picture of us in "birth order".....left to right = oldest to youngest. Look who's in the middle!  I think I got the best spot, because I get to have 2 older and 2 younger sisters, 1 older and 1 younger brother.  Perfect!
Sam, Nate, Conner & Graigry
The kids were dancing all night, only stopped for dinner!
Sophie crashed in Jared's lap around 5:30
My beautiful girls!  A big thank you to Sara (my sis in law) who made their hair so pretty!

My  sister Patrice with baby Dallon.

Rylee & Emma, Kelsey & Lexi - Jamie's girls.
Jason & Whitney
Like I said, these kids were dancing all night!
Wesley & Abi - two of Tiff's kids
I believe Black Eyed Peas was on at this particular moment!
