4AM Wake-up Call

Waking up at 4AM shouldn't be anything different for someone with a baby, right? But Sophie has been sleeping through the night for at least 3 weeks now. She's down around 9 PM & doesn't wake up until 7. It's wonderful to know that when my head hits the pillow I get to SLEEP! So I wake up today to a commotion; Jared, Ashton, Conner & Mallory all seem to be talking at once. One phrase sticks out and jolts me awake....Ashton says, "Conner pooped in his bed." Just what you want to hear at 4AM, right? I get up, Conner is in the dining room walking with very stiff, straight legs. Every Mom knows that walk. I'm just hoping he hasn't left a trail. I'm thinking, 'Why is Mal up?', she's annoying Jared, who is awake but not really, saying that she wants cereal. He tells her to lay down. Conner & I head to the bathroom to peel his pj's off & put him in the shower. I tell Ashton to go back to bed. While Conner is in the shower I check the damage left in his bed....not too bad, just the fitted sheet (thank heaven we have a plastic sheet under that!). Ashton was already breathing heavily, though I think he was faking. I stripped the bed and got it ready for Conner to get back into it because we are NOT staying up. I get him back to bed, throw the bedding in the washer, and head back to my room & tell Mal it's not time to be up or time for cereal. She's OK with me putting her back to bed. Good thing! I'm back in bed by 4:30.
Jared asks about what happened when we are all fully conscious this morning, he doesn't remember much. And he thinks it's rude for me to post this here because Conner will be embarrassed. Oh well....it's the joys and privileges of being a Mom.

I love Saturday

We love Saturdays around here. Right now Jared is gone with the boys doing some grocery shopping, Sophie is asleep, and my 3 other girls are playing Barbie. Kelsey & Emma are such nice sisters to play with Mal.

Sophie & Lucy's Blessing

We had the great opportunity to bless Neil & Amy's daughter, Lucy, with Sophie this last Sunday, March 7th. We were both planning on that day, and instead of having the family commute back & forth from Sandy to Layton, we got permission from our Bishops to bless them both in our ward. It was such a nice meeting and both Neil & Jared gave beautiful blessings. Neil, Jared, Mom, and two of Amy's siblings bore their testimonies. It was really wonderful.
They are both hungry....can you tell?

I love my family and sharing this day together made it even more special.

Beka got this cute picture of Sophie smiling.
I have a lot of other pictures of everyone here at the house visiting. It was packed and I loved it. It was a rare chance to have Jared's side & my side together at our house.

Must have Fox News

We haven't had much snow this winter. We woke up today to probably 4-5 inches. I love it, since we haven't had much, though I am ready for spring! To Jared it just means more work. He's on the phone now with his landscapers making sure they are out pushing snow.
One thing Jared likes: Fox News on every second he's at his desk. This morning his tv wasn't working. We figured the satellite must have too much snow on it. Instead of risking life & limb by climbing on a ladder, we found a long piece of wood leftover from the remodel. While Jared was out whacking away at the satellite dish, I realized that his tv was the only one not working. Hitting the "reset" button on the box to his tv fixed that. Oh well....it was fun to watch him anyway!

Reap what you Sow...

Several times yesterday both Jared & I had to tell Conner to leave Abbie alone. It's a common occurance. He is always asking for it, and last night she finally gave it to him. I got mad at him and Abbie equally. We're lucky she didn't do more damage. After we both scolded him he got a hug, and Abbie spent the rest of the evening in her kennel. Bad dog!
