Time for a haircut

Why is Mal so sad?

Oh! Because she cut her hair & I freaked out! It must be built in their genetic code. I cut my hair when I was little, Kelsey cut her's when she was 3, now Mal has cut hers. Can you see it? Right there above her ear? I took the scissors away and she just kept crying, "I WANT TO CUT MY HAIR!" After we all calmed down she told me she wants new hair. I love her long hair, but I guess it's time for a cut.

Dancing Queen

My kids love listening to the "Mamma Mia" soundtrack, especially Mal. They were dancing so cute to it I decided to replay it & pull out my camera. But of course, as soon as they know they are being taped they aren't quite so cute....Mal just starts to cry. Emma was too busy reading in the other room.

Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Kelsey always sits right down and does her homework right after school....always has (I hope she always will!). So I was looking at her spelling words with her and about died. Seriously? She's in 5th grade! They split the kids up into different spelling groups, depending on their abilities, and she's in the most advanced, there's only 4 kids in her group. Here's a sampling: perspicacious, obsolescent, perspicacity, immunization, reciprocity, paradigmatic, rhapsodic, paradigm. Honestly, I'm not sure how to pronounce some of them. Guess I need to go back to the 5th grade.

Ready? Aim...FIRE!

This week Emma had a big school project due...she had to build a catapult. Don't we love OUR homework? We have done this before with Kels. We actually still have it, we figured we'd pass it down. It's pretty amazing that we didn't loose it with construction & moving twice. So on Wednesday Jared was out running to properties and said he'd stop and get supplies and when he got home the three of us would work on it. Kelsey's turned out good, even though I was SURE Jared didn't have a clue as to what he was doing. I knew we could figure it out this time too. Then Jared called & said our friend & his maintenance guy, Jack, was going to come help us. YAHOO! Now I knew for sure there wasn't a worry...we got Jack! He's the nicest guy, and he was here from about 4:30 until 7:30. I think he was having a good time! Emma got third place today out of the whole grade. THANKS JACK!

I CAN do this!

I love, love, love reading family & friend's blogs. I have tried before, but for some reason blogger is just too complicated for me. But I'm really going to try! Here we go....
